About

A visual artist with a studio at Newcastle’s NewBridge Project; Michael is a member of Northern Print and is represented by VANE Gallery, Gateshead. In addition, his practice includes Community/Participatory Arts projects at museums, galleries, schools and care homes across the region.

Happy Challenge

During the third lockdown I ran a project with artist Anton Hecht with a class at Colliery Primary School, Dipton, Co. Durham.

Over 9 weeks, we used the development of a pack of Top Trump cards to explore wellbeing through the themes within game creation, creative writing and public speaking as well as drawing, collage, print and design.

The resulting artwork with chosen topics and stats were both animated (Thom (insert artist's name)), turned into flip-books (insert name) and a finished pack of cards.
